Inertial sensors for moving objects, Genesys release short video series

Updated: Mar 13, 2021

Inertial sensor technology is used to acquire precise position and movement data of objects in motion, such as vehicles, motorbikes and bikes.

The German Testing supplier Genesys has launched a series of videos that allows viewers to explore the functionality of MEMS accelerometers, open-loop and closed-loop accelerometers and fibre optic gyroscopes.

Genesys says "Our GNSS-aided INS (Inertial Navigation System) ADMA is equipped with different sensor types. The ADMA is very well suited for evaluating vehicle dynamics and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) by combining these sensors in three axes by adding GNSS and Kalman filter".

The first of four brand new demo videos can be seen here.

Videos in the series currently available include:

(Above) Sensor types: MEMS accelerometer

Sensor types: Open-loop accelerometer

Sensor types: Closed-loop accelerometer

Sensor types: Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG)
